The Grammys are adding new awards. The Recording Academy announced Songwriter of the Year, Best Alternative Music Performance, Best Score Soundtrack for Video Games, and Best Spoken Word Poetry Album will be added to next year's show. The academy also updated some of its rules including charging fees for artist entry submissions after Recording Academy members use their five courtesy entries. Academy CEO Harvey Mason Junior said the academy is "excited to honor these diverse communities of music creators" through these new awards.
