DDG unlocked a new look after he cut his infamous dreads off, and he had the most hilarious reaction.
On Sunday night, March 30, the YouTuber-turned-artist chopped off his dreads after he achieved his goal of gaining 40,000 new subscribers on Twitch. The "Pink Dreads" rapper racked up 42,000 subs during his 24-hour Hit-A-Thon, in which he teamed up with several artists to make a fresh album in a week. His livestream had over 90,000 viewers tuned in as his shoulder-length locs were snipped in real time.
"Noooo!!" DDG yelled after the first loc dropped the ground. After seeing the progress, he said, "I want this to be my album cover."
DDG first promised to cut off his dreads when he promoted his Hit-A-Thon last week. The livestreamed event had the 27-year-old locked in with several artists like Rob49, DaBaby, Ty Dolla $ign, Kevin Gates, Rich the Kid and Shaboozey as they all joined forces to make new songs for his upcoming album. In addition to the artists, DDG also had streamers like Kai Cenat and Adin Ross pull up to his livestream. He even encouraged Kai to cut off his dreads in solidarity with him.
Before he chopped off his dreads, DDG also did other outrageous things to celebrate the thousands of subscribers he gained over the past week. At 20,000 he got a tattoo of his nickname "MOO" inked on his arm and he died the ends of his dreads pink after he reached 30,000 subscribers. Once he got to 35,000 subs, DDG did a Fear Factor-style challenge where he stuck his head in a container full of bugs.
DDG was definitely feeling himself after he saw what he looked like after his dreads were removed. See his reaction below.
