No surprise – people are buying more booze these days.

Sales of alcohol in the U.S. went up 55% in the week ending March 21st, according to Nielsen. And seems people are reaching for the hard stuff. Sales of tequila, gin and pre-mixed cocktails were up 75% compared to the same time last year. Wine sales were up 66% and beer sales were up 42%. And people are buying more booze online than in stores. According to the Nielsen data, online alcohol sales were up 243%. (Yahoo)
