Rosa Parks Day

It's hard to believe that it was only just a little over 60 years ago, that a woman who refused to sit at the back of the bus would be the face of a boycott movement that would be part of making history. This woman labeled as the 'Mother of the movement' who we now know to be Rosa Parks helped mark a time in history that would eventually spark change around the world. On December 1st, 1955, in Montgomery, Alabama exactly 65 years ago, "Rosa Parks was arrested for refusing a bus driver's instructions to give up her seat to a white passenger. She later recalled that her refusal wasn't because she was physically tired, but that she was tired of giving in." biography.com

From (youngest daughter of civil rights leader and preacher Dr. Martin Luther King Jr) Bernice King , elected officials celebs and artist like award winning poet, actor and hip hop activist Common, many took time to remember Rosa Parks bold act.
