Bernie Sanders Walks Out To Young Thug’s 'Pick Up The Phone' At Rally

It's undeniable, Uncle Bernie Sanders' got swag.

The Vermont Senator had Morehouse College feeling the Bern at his most recent campaign rally on the HBCU's campus in Atlanta on Thursday (November 21).

The Democratic Presidential candidate brought the crowd to its feet as he took the stage to Young Thug and Travis Scotts hit collab “Pick Up the Phone." The 2016 track, which also features Quavo, blared over the speakers throughout Martin Luther King Jr. International Chapel Plaza and since turned into yet another viral moment of 2019.

The surprise, but fitting song choice comes amid the Senator's 2020 Presidential campaign. Sanders is currently in third place, per the New York Times national polling average, behind former Vice President Joe Biden and Senator Elizabeth Warren.

Like Warren, Sanders has a large celebrity backing. Most recently, Ariana Grande shouted out Uncle Bernie on Twitter after he showed up at her "Sweetener World Tour" stop in Atlanta on Tuesday (November 19).

"MY GUY. thank you Senator Sanders for coming to my show, making my whole night and for all that you stand for !" Ari captioned two photos of her beside Sanders. "@headcountorg and i are doing our best to make you proud. we’ve already registered 20k+ young voters at my shows alone. also i will never smile this hard again promise."
